New England equaled their best victory streak from the Tom Brady period as they beat division opponents the New York Jets by 13 points in the NFL

First-year standout TreVeyon Henderson led the way with three scores as the Patriots claimed an eight-game winning streak for the first time since star signal-caller Tom Brady's closing campaign with the franchise in the 2019 season

QB Maye accumulated 281 passing yards and a touchdown, completing 25 of 34 passes

Victory bolsters the Patriots lead at the top of the division as they moved to nine victories against two losses, with the Jets at the foot after falling to a 2-8 mark

The opposing team had taken the lead at their home field with QB Fields running in a five-yard TD to finish the Jets' opening drive

But the New England responded in the second period as Henderson rushed for two seven-yard touchdowns before the ball carrier hauled in a throw from Maye at the rear of the end zone midway through the third period to extend the lead to 21-7

"That was a key occasion for him delivering, and it's been great for him to keep gaining experience," Maye commented on the rookie. "He aims to be excellent."

Justin Fields connected with John Metchie late in the third period to narrow the deficit for the visitors but Borregales booted a two kicks in the final period as the Patriots wrapped up the triumph
